Motivated… What does it mean to be Motivated?

Where does your Motivation come from and how do you stay Motivated?

Does your Motivation come from within as some people suggest?

Or does your Motivation come from the outside?

Wikipedia defines Motivation as: the activation or energization of goal-oriented behavior.

Read that again… the activation or energization of goal-oriented behavior.

So, in order to be Motivated, you must first have a goal.

Define your goal, and if your desire coincides with your actions – you will be Motivated…

When you’re not feeling Motivated, ask yourself… “What is my goal?”

Simply put, your desire (which comes from the inside) will activate your Motivation to pursue a goal (which usually comes from the outside), which will energize your behavior so as to pursue and work towards that goal.

If your goal is to lose weight: How much weight would you like to lose and by when? And how would it make you feel to succeed at reaching your weight loss goal?

If your goal is to have more energy: What changes need to take place to make that happen? Do you need to get more sleep? Or exercise more and/or make better food choices?

If your goal is to minimize your daily pain: Is that possible? And if so how can that be accomplished?

Revisit and reconnect with your goal(s) whenever you lack Motivation and you feel as if you’ve lost your way.

Your goal(s) will help to get you back on track, and your desire to achieve your goal(s) is what will fuel your Motivation.
